The mainstream media sees many urban communities as being deprived and with high volumes ofunemployment, low aspirations and social issues such as teenage pregnancy and crime. Reportersfrom outside of the area give negative reports based on statistics, often with limited time and resources to look past the surface of a story and the hard work that is going into these communities. Parklife was a collaboration with M6 Theatre Company working alongside Rochdale Youth Service and young people to produce a short film around teen issues. The short film was focused around social cohesion and young peoples interactions. The project took place over 10 weeks working in workshop to develop scenes to form a script, thereafter the script was filmed and edit before a showcase taking place at the Studio Theatre.
